About Us

Being in close proximty of Hoghton Tower, the Royal Oak at Riley Green became established in the early 1600`s as a coaching inn offering refreshments to weary travellers.

We aim to offer the same hospitality as in days gone by with an extensive selection of meals and a wide range of award winning cask ales.

Our food is freshly prepared and home cooked wherever possible, using fresh local produce. Your patience would be appreciated at busy times.

The Royal Oak has regularly appeared in the Good Beer Guide for over twenty five years.

The Royal Oak was voted 8th best pub in the country in a Morning Advertiser Poll 2006. Only 2 pubs from East Lancashire made it to the top 20!
